U.S. President Donald Trump says his administration's trade negotiations with China are "having tremendous success".
He made the remark on Thursday as he took off to the U.S. border with Mexico on the 20th day of a partial shutdown of the U.S. government.
He also said China was "far more honorable" and easier to deal with than members of the opposition Democratic Party.
During their meeting in Beijing this week, the U.S Trade Representative focused on China's promise to buy more U.S. products such as agricultural and industrial goods.
