미-중 무역협상, 中 "공통 관심에 대한 해결 토대 마련"
The U.S. and China wrapped up their trade talks in Beijing on Wednesday.
China says the talks established a basis for resolving the concerns of both sides.
And the U.S. says China has agreed to buy substantially more American goods.
Yoon Jung-min has this report.
In a statement released on Thursday, China's Commerce Ministry said the country had concluded their trade talks with the U.S. and the talks were extensive,... while establishing a foundation to resolve both sides' concerns.
Washington and Beijing have been holding the first face-to-face talks this week in Beijing to resolve the trade conflict since U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed on a 90-day trade war truce last December.
The U.S. Trade Representative's office issued its own statement a day earlier,... and said China has pledged to purchase "a substantial amount" of agricultural, energy and manufactured goods and services from the U.S.
It added the two countries discussed "ways to achieve fairness, reciprocity and balance in trade relations",... as well as issues related to intellectual property protection.
It also said Washington and Beijing have discussed the need for the agreement "to provide for complete implementation, subject to on-going verification and effective enforcement."
Amid high hopes that world's two large economies will reach an agreement in the trade talks, stocks in Europe saw large gains on Wednesday.
