Talks between the Trump administration and Democrats failed to end the partial government shutdown. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Democrats would pass new legislation to try and reopen parts of the government. The partial shutdown came after President Donald Trump demanded $5.6 billion to build a border wall. Once Democrats took control of the House of Representatives, they passed a bill to reopen the government.
