According to Reuters, the United Auto Workers is suing General Motors over labor contract violations.
The lawsuit stems from its alleged use of temporary workers at an Indiana assembly plant.
The suit also escalates the union's attempts to halt GM's plans to close factories in the United States.
Filed at a US District Court in Ohio, the suit is the union's first legal move against GM’s decision from late November to close five plants in the US.
