Partial US Government Shutdown Continues Past Christmas The stalemate between President Trump and the Democratic party is due to his demand for $5 billion for a wall on the
southern border. Trump has said he does not know when the partial shutdown will end. President Donald Trump, via press pool Democrats, who will control the House on January 3rd, say they will put up a bill that day to reopen
the government. The partial shutdown has affected the pay of nearly one million government workers. Despite going back to work after Christmas, many cannot be paid until after the shutdown ends.
