US President Donald Trump signed ‘First Step Act’ into law which is a prison and sentencing reform bill, on December 20. The new law will turn federal prisons towards rehabilitation. The bill was passed in the Senate and in House earlier this week. On the occasion, Trump tweeted, “Today, it was my great honor to sign the #FirstStepAct - a monumental bi-partisan win for the American people!”.
