Four transgender devotees, who were earlier stopped from proceeding towards the Lord Ayyappa temple, Tuesday (Dec 18) offered prayers at the hill shrine under a heavy police security cover. During security cover, police staffs violated the temple rules, later police chief apologized.

ಶಬರಿಮಲೆ ಅಯ್ಯಪ್ಪಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಇದುವರೆಗಿನ ಇತಿಹಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದೂ ನಡೆಯದ ಅಪಚಾರ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ಆದ ಘಟನೆಗೆ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಭಕ್ತರಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯಾಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶಬರಿಮಲೆ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ನಂತರ, ಭಕ್ತರ ಭಾರೀ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿರೋಧದ ನಡುವೆ, ಹಲವು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ದೇವಾಲಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
