Thousands of British troops are on standby to respond to any fallout stemming from a possible no-deal Brexit.
The UK's defence secretary, Gavin Williamson, announced the deployment on Tuesday, as London makes contingency plans for Britain crashing out of the EU with no deal.
The troops include engineers, mechanics and drivers mostly drawn from a number of army regiments, and they will help government departments if needed.
The government has also advised businesses to make their own contingency plans.
With 101 days left until Britain leaves the EU, Prime Minister Theresa May is desperately trying to persuade hostile MPs to vote for her Brexit deal.
