The head coach of Vietnam's national football team, Park Hang-seo, has rewritten the country's football history.
The Vietnam national team has won the ASEAN Football Federation championship for the second time ever.
Vietnam won the Suzuki Cup, Southeast Asia's biggest football tournament, for the first time since 2008 on Saturday.

The start of the ( ) Park Hang-seo magic was the Asian Football Federation U-23 Championship earlier this year, where Park led the team to second place, Vietnam also reached the semifinals of the 2018 Asian Games, and now Park has added to that success by lifting the Suzuki Cup.

"I'm so glad that we won. Over the past 2 months, me, the players and our coaching staff have done a lot of hard work. I especially thank the Vietnamese people for supporting our win."

Cities across Vietnam are full of joy over the win and Park is being seen as a national hero.

"I'm not a hero, but just a normal soccer coach. Because of all the love I have received, this was one of the ways that I had to repay that love and give joy to the people of Vietnam."

Vietnam's first Suzuki Cup win in 10 years has boosted the popularity of Park even further with the Vietnamese flag and Korean flag fluttering everywhere on the streets of Vietnam.
