President Trump on Saturday announced Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's departure.
President Trump has announced his Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is leaving the administration.
The president tweeted Saturday: "Secretary of the Interior @RyanZinke will be leaving the Administration at the end of the year after having served for a period of almost two years. Ryan has accomplished much during his tenure and I want to thank him for his service to our Nation."
According to Bloomberg, sources have indicated that Zinke's decision to step down was prompted by mounting pressure over "federal investigations into his travel, political activity and potential conflicts of interest."
As for his replacement, the president tweeted that "the Trump Administration will be announcing the new Secretary of the Interior next week."
