Bomb Threats Prompt
Evacuations Across the US Threats were
received in San Francisco,
New York, Seattle, Miami,
Washington, DC and other locations. The email demanded
a transfer of $20,000
in bitcoin to a
specified account. The FBI and the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
and Explosives confirmed that
they were assisting law enforcement. Some law enforcement
agencies posted the email
on their social media accounts. Cedar Rapids Police Department, via Twitter The threats were received
by universities, media
companies and courthouses. The email was
also sent to
businesses in Canada.
