Philadelphia 76ers Guard Markelle Fultz Out Indefinitely With Injury The No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 N.B.A. draft has been diagnosed with a nerve disorder called thoracic outlet syndrome. The disorder affects nerves between the neck and shoulder resulting in abnormal functional movements. According to the 76ers, it has severely limited Fultz's ability to shoot a basketball. Thoracic outlet syndrome is typically more associated with baseball players, particularly starting pitchers. Reports say he will be treated with physical therapy and could be back on the court in three to six weeks.
