New Years Day Blanking - No fish this time unfortunately, despite trying every spot that was fishable and every bait in my armoury!

However, I've taken the opportunity for a catch-up and to say happy new year to you.

With the Avon still very high and coloured, I took my last opportunity to get out on the bank before my return to work after the Christmas break.

It was new years day and first light saw me swim hopping the long stretch below the weir, in the hope of dropping on some fish that were sheltering from the turbulent torrent that the main river had become with all the rain and snow-melt.

Apologies for the lack of fish but if they aren't having it you can't make them can you.
