PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Pakatan Harapan-led government will not abandon Malays and Islam and that the ratification of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) can only be considered if it does not affect the standing of Islam and Malay special rights.

He was speaking at the Syarahan Za'ba 2018 event entitled “Malays and Muslims in the New Malaysia Era" at Universiti Malaya on Friday.
