A Korean-American candidate running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives has lost her race.
The AP declared the race on Saturday, local time, for California's 39th district for Democrat Gil Cisneros who beat Republican Young Kim.
Kim appeared to be in the lead on election night, but as postal ballots came in, that lead disappeared.
The latest count, according to CNN, put Kim behind by 1-point-6 percent.
Young Kim would have been one of two Korean-Americans elected to Congress this cycle along with Andy Kim from New Jersey, a Democrat, and she would have been the first Korean-American woman.
Andy Kim won his race, and is the first Korean-American to be elected to Congress in 20 years.
