CNN announced Tuesday it is suing the Trump administration over Jim Acosta's revoked press credentials.

CNN announced Tuesday that it is filing a lawsuit against President Trump and some of his aides, including White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, seeking restoration of reporter Jim Acosta's White House press credentials.
"The lawsuit is a response to the White House's suspension of Acosta's press pass, known as a Secret Service 'hard pass,' last week. The suit alleges that Acosta and CNN's First and Fifth Amendment rights are being violated by the ban," CNN noted.
Trump's controversial move against Acosta, CNN's chief White House correspondent, occurred after the two men clashed during a press conference Wednesday.
According to the New York Times, "Their exchange grew heated when Mr. Acosta repeatedly challenged the president's characterization of a Central American migrant caravan as an invasion. Mr. Trump responded by lashing out at Mr. Acosta, saying, 'Honestly, I think you should let me run the country — you run CNN.'"
The Times says Trump also called Acosta "a rude, terrible person" for refusing "several times to sit down or to return a microphone to a White House intern who sought to retrieve it."
Constitutional law expert Floyd Abrams has suggested the odds would likely be in the network's favor, saying on "Reliable Sources," "Whether it's CNN suing or the next company suing, someone is going to have to bring a lawsuit. And whoever does is going to win unless there's some sort of reason."
