Over at the National Assembly, now that the budget committee has finished its general deliberation of the government's roughly 420 billion U.S. dollar budget for next year... the parliamentary standing committees are also gearing up to complete their screening as soon as possible.
Eight standing committees are holding their review on Tuesday, with much attention focused on the steering committee which will review the budget for the Presidential departments, secretariat and bodyguards, and the budget allocated for the National Assembly.
Other committees, including the finance and defense committees, will also start operating their respective sub-committees, which are in charge of cutting or raising specific parts of the budget.
