A fire at a low-cost dormitory housing facility in Seoul on Friday has left at least seven people dead and 11 others injured.
According to local fire authorities, the blaze is believed to have broken out at around 5 a.m. on the third floor of the three-story building in the central district of Jongro-gu.
The fire was extinguished at 7 a.m.
The accommodation, or "goshiwon," was home to about 50 residents.
Those killed or injured were aged in their 40s to 60s.
The aging building had no sprinklers but was equipped with other emergency equipment.
