South Korea's rival parties have agreed to hold a parliamentary hearing regarding a controversial military document containing detailed procedures for the potential invocation of martial law.
The National Assembly's defense committee will hold the hearing.
The documents drawn up by the Defense Security Command, the military intelligence wing,... showed.... plans to consider the possibility of invoking martial law,... if the Constitutional Court's ruling on the impeachment of then-president Park Geun-hye caused public unrest.
On other matters,.... rival parties agreed to create a consultative body within the National Assembly,... in order to implement the agreements reached during the meeting between the president and the various party floor leaders earlier this week.
Through the body,... the parties will work on pending bills,... especially those related to expanding the flexible working system and addressing the country's ultra-low birthrate.
