The United States and China will hold their diplomatic and security dialogue in Washington on Friday.
The U.S. State Department said Monday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary James Mattis will represent Washington in the talks, while Chinese politburo member Yang Jiechi and Defense Minister Wei Fenghe will represent Beijing.
The second round of the security meeting comes after the initially planned talks in Beijing in October were postponed amid the rising trade tensions and a territorial dispute in the South China Sea.
The talks were held for the first time in June of last year in Washington.
