$126,000 to Left-Leaning
Chicago Mayoral Candidate The hefty contribution to
Amaria Enyia comes two days
after Kanye announced he was
"distancing" himself from politics. The tweet followed the
suggestion from a conservative
group that West had a hand in
designing apparel for "Blexit." "Blexit" is a campaign launched by Candace Owens that encourages African-Americans to leave the
Democratic Party. West has endured backlash
for his controversial support
of President Donald Trump. The contribution to
Enyia's campaign was
Kanye's second within a week. He initially contributed more than $73,000 in order to help Enyia clear up state campaign finance violations. Her platform focuses
on police reform, mental
health care and Chicago's
African-American neighborhoods.
