Chelsea Clinton recently suggested that run for political office isn't out of the question.  "I don't have any plans to run for office, but it is something I think about as I hope every young person thinks about it," Clinton said in an interview with the Journal News. "If you care about what's happening in the world, you have to care about running for and holding elected office. I hope it's a question that we ask ourselves." 
Clinton has previously commented on the circumstances that may urge her to launch a campaign, notes Time magazine. When speaking at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August, the former first daughter remarked, "If my city councilor were to retire, if my congresswoman were to retire, my senators, and I thought that I could make a positive impact, then I think I would really have to ask my answer to that question [of whether to run for office]."  However, Clinton noted that currently, she's "really focused on trying to make the change. I want to see in the world through my work in the [Clinton] foundation, my writing and my teaching."
