Full highlights from the Goodwood Trophy at #GoodwoodRevival 2016. The cars that were pushed out to race at Goodwood when it opened just three years after the end of the Second World War weren’t all newly built. Indeed, that wasn’t surprising at all, with shortages of many materials still stifling development, so many of those entered in the circuit’s early races had been built in the 1930s, before the hostilities began. In honour of the British drivers who couldn’t get their hands on the newest machinery, the Goodwood Trophy is a race for Grand Prix cars and Voiturettes from either side of the Second World War, built up to 1950, after which the pace of development really took off and it was no longer really possible for even the greatest ERA driver to keep up with the all-new machinery.
