इस बार शरद पूर्णिमा तिथि की शुरुआत 23 अक्टूबर रात को हो रही है और इसका समापन 24 अक्टूबर रात को होगा। व्रत एवं पूजा 24 अक्टूबर को ही होगा। मान्‍यता है कि शरद पूर्णिमा ही वो दिन है जब चंद्रमा अपनी 16 कलाओं से युक्‍त होकर धरती पर अमृत की वर्षा करता है। आमतौर पर हम सुनते हैं कि चंद्रमा में सोलह कलाएं होती हैं।
