South Korea's top nuclear negotiator, Lee Do-hoon , left for Washington Sunday morning to meet with his U.S. counterpart.
Before embarking on his three day trip, Lee said he and Washington's Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, will be discussing how to make further progress on Pyeongyang's denuclearization.
As Seoul's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Lee also said he will brief Biegun on his latest visit to China, and Biegun is expected to discuss his visits to Russia and Europe.
Lee will also be meeting with officials from the State Department and other areas to hear their views on talks with Pyeongyang.
