Mary Bono has resigned from USA Gymnastics, four days after she was named interim CEO of the organization, a spokesman for the U.S. Olympic Committee said on Tuesday.

USOC spokesman Patrick Sandusky said in an email that Bono stepped down from the role Tuesday. Bono had been criticized for a tweet she sent that was critical of sportswear maker Nike (NKE.N).
