Google Plus Bug Exposes 500,000 Users The bug in Google’s developer platform on the social network left users' names, email addresses, occupations, gender and age all vulnerable. Google stated it found no evidence the data was improperly accessed or misused. But the tech giant also announced it is shutting down Plus for consumers. The platform has seen low performance, with 90% of Google Plus user sessions lasting fewer than 5 seconds. The consumer version will slowly wind down over the next 10 months, but the enterprise version will remain active. This breach is part of a rare slip up for Google, which has avoided the privacy scandals that have hit other social network companies this year.
