SF Gate reports that Judge Brett Kavanaugh will become Justice Brett Kavanaugh. So says the Senate, who voted 50 to 48 Saturday to confirm him to fill the ninth seat in the Supreme Court.
Kavanaugh’s nomination was split down party lines. All but one member of the Democratic caucus opposed him and all but one Republican backed him. Alaska’s Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski voted with the Democrats against Kavanaugh. West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin split with his party and supported Kavanauagh.
