Melania Trump faced criticism for wearing a pith helmet in Africa.

Melania Trump has again raised eyebrows with her wardrobe choice.
As The Guardian reported, she "prompted consternation, some anger and much derision by choosing a pith helmet – a symbol of colonial rule across Africa – as headwear for a brief safari in Kenya."
As images of her wearing the hat circulated on social media, numerous reactions followed.
"Melania completes the stereotype trifecta--elephants, orphans and even the pith helmet," wrote one tweeter about her Africa trip.
"Yes, she is beautiful, but an experienced staff would have offered advice and guidance to  help her avoid this faux pas," someone else tweeted.
"Is anyone surprised?" stated another commenter. "Remember what she had written on the back of her coat visiting children in cages?"
However, many didn't think her hat selection warranted media attention considering the New York Times, CNN and other major outlets covered the story.
"It's a hat.... got to make something out of nothing," noted a Twitter user. "Love the press."
