The two Koreas are holding a joint event in the North Korean capital later this week to celebrate the 11th anniversary of their 2007 summit agreement, dubbed the October 4th Declaration.
A South Korean delegation of roughly 150 people, including those from the government, civic groups and political parties will fly north via the western air route on Thursday.
The actual celebratory event is to take place on Friday.
Besides attending the event, the South Korean delegation is to take a tour of Pyeongyang and watch art performances.
Seoul says there could also be talks between South and North Korean officials, which may cover cooperation in medical care and cultural heritage... as officials related to these areas are part of the delegation.
