This parrot appeared to have a mouth of steel when he was seen munching his way through red hot chili peppers.

The bird, believed to be a pet, was perched on a doorstep outside a shop in Taiwan.

He appeared to be the happiest little boy in the world while tucking into the aptly named Bird's eye chili peppers.

Passer-by Wei Chang said: ''The bird had a very strong mouth. He looked so relaxed while he was eating the chili peppers. They are like fire.''
