The Italian Red Cross said winds were causing a wildfire in the province of Pisa to spread rapidly, with local residents from several towns evacuated and schools closed on Tuesday, September 25.
The flames, fanned by gusts of wind, were first reported at around 10 pm on September 24 on Mount Serra in the commune of Calci, local news site TGCOM24 reported.
