Yachtsman Abhilash Tomy, a 39-year-old Indian naval commander, was competing in the Golden Globe round-the-world-race when he was caught in bad weather on Friday. The storm left him with a seriously injured back and unable to sail his damaged vessel to safety. Tomy was rescued by the French fishing vessel Osiris around 2,000 miles off the coast of Western Australia on Monday, the BBC reported.
