If you’ve booked a catered ski chalet for your skiing holiday, it takes pressure off planning meals and food shopping while you’re away. But being able to relax about eating doesn’t mean you can get careless about packing! One forgotten item can mar an otherwise perfect break.

Here are five top suggestions for last-minute items. First, slippers. It’s always best – and sometimes a requirement – to leave your soggy shoes at the front door after skiing. Feet may also be sore and uncomfortable in the evenings. You’ll be really glad you packed a pair of slippers! Next up, a decent first aid kit: blister plasters, painkillers, sports tape and muscle rub should all feature. Third, preserve your dignity with reputable-looking pyjamas if sharing group ski chalets with other holiday makers, or even friends and family. Fourthly, don’t forget a portable power bank to charge phones, iPads or cameras on-the-go.

Also, bring a spare SD card for all those photos! Lastly, any home comforts such as your usual teabags or coffee, chocolate or a jar of Marmite. A catered ski chalet will of course provide food and drinks, but your own favourites may help if you’re sore and aching.
