McDonald’s workers and activists took part in protests in cities across the US on September 18 as part of a nationwide strike to protest sexual harassment in the fast-food franchise.

The protests were organized by the workers’ rights group Fight for $15. This footage shows protests outside a McDonald’s on West Florence Avenue in Los Angeles.

Workers also demonstrated in front of McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago and at an outlet in St Louis, Missouri, as well as locations in Milwaukee, Kansas City, New Orleans, Durham, Miami, Orlando, and San Francisco.

In May 2017, sexual harassment claims were filed with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of 10 women, with Fight for $15 and the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund backing the lawsuit. Credit: Karen Adams via Storyful
