Villagers in India travelled for miles after news spread that a baby had been born with four legs.

Footage captured on September 16 in the city of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, shows the newborn wailing as a crowd of people stares in awe.

The locals have hailed the birth of the child as a "miracle of God."

It is not known what condition caused the boy's extra appendages.

The child is expected to live but will be transferred to Lucknow for an operation.
