According to a report by Reuters, on Saturday, tropical storm Florence moved inland, flooding river and towns, toppling trees and taking out power to nearly a million homes and businesses as it dumped huge amounts of rain on North and South Carolina, where five people have already died. While Florence weakened from hurricane strength after it came ashore on Friday, however forecasters warned that the 350 mile-wide storm still threatens to leave much of the region under water in the coming days.
