Waves Pound North Carolina Shore as Hurricane Florence Edges Closer

Hurricane Florence edged closer to the North Carolina coast on Thursday, September 13, and the storm was whipped up high waves at Kure Beach.

The National Weather Service issued renewed warnings ahead of the storm’s arrival.

Florence is expected to be close to or over the coast later Thursday or early Friday.

More than 1.7 million people in Virginia, North and South Carolina were told to evacuate.
