A lorry driver is being hunted by police for taking no notice of a level crossing - and smashing through the barriers. CCTV footage caught the moment the flat-bed smashed through the closing gates - seconds away from being hit by a speeding train. British Transport Police appealed for witnesses as the driver remains on the run following the crash at 1pm last Friday, that caused hours of train and road delays near Battle in East Sussex. A spokesman said: "Police is aware of a collision that took place on a level crossing just after 1pm Friday, September 7, near Battle, East Sussex.
