China Vows Retaliation if US Takes New Tariff Measures President Trump recently
announced that he was ready
for additional tariffs on
virtually all Chinese imports. China isn't happy
about Trump's plans. Geng Shuang, Foreign Ministry spokesman,
via CNBC Despite much negotiation between
the two countries, additional tariffs
on $50 billion of each other's goods
has been activated since July. China revealed a proposed list of retaliatory
tariffs on $60 billion of U.S. goods in August,
should Trump activate tariffs on his $200 billion list. Trump's threat spans a total of
$517 billion in Chinese goods, which
would be well above last year's goods
imports of $505 billion from China.
