Guests at the Elephant Bedroom Camp in the Samburu National Reserve, Kenya, witnessed this dramatic rescue of a young elephant calf from the Ewaso Nyiro river.
The calf got into trouble while trying to cross the rushing waters, and staff at the Elephant Bedroom Camp wasted no time coming to the aid of the elephant.
Filmed on November 6 2017 according to the camp, the footage shows how several men jumped into the water and guided the calf back to shore. The baby elephant was separated from its family but was brought to the Reteti Elephants Sanctuary for care, which it was then given the name Ewaso. Credit: Bernard Karangi via Storyful
