South Korea's top national security official returned from Beijing on Sunday after meeting with a top Chinese official to discuss his recent visit to North Korea.
At a press briefing upon his arrival back in Seoul, National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong said he met with Yang Jiechi , a top official at China's Central Foreign Affairs Commission, and shared what he discussed with Kim Jong-un last Wednesday.
He said China expects that the upcoming inter-Korean talks and South Korea-U.S. talks will be a turning point for denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula,... and that China will cooperate along the way.
Chung also said they agreed to work on arranging a summit between President Moon Jae-in and Xi Jinping later this year.
