According to Reuters, Ford Motor Co recalled 2 million F-150 pickup trucks in North America. The reason for the recall was because of fire and smoke concerns in seat-belt pretensioners. The automaker said it was aware of 17 reports of smoke of fire in the U.S. and of six in Canada. Yet Ford said it was not aware of any accidents or injuries caused by the belt pretensioners. The company said that some pretensioners in front seat belts could generate excessive sparks when deployed.
