U.S. President Donald Trump has dismissed a book on his presidency by a longtime Washington Post reporter.... as a "made-up fraud" and a "con on the public," after leaked pages of the book stirred an uproar over his apparent lack of judgment as U.S. President.
Bob Woodward's book,... set to hit the shelves next Tuesday,... included anecdotes on the U.S. leader's alleged lack of knowledge on South and North Korea.
Defense Secretary James Mattis reportedly had to explain that U.S. troops couldn't simply withdraw from the Korean Peninsula,... amid tensions with Pyongyang,... and that keeping a military presence in Seoul was actually "cost effective."
The book also says Trump instructed General Joseph Dunford Junior to plan a pre-emptive strike on North Korea.
In another part of the book, Woodward says,.... then chief economic advisor Gary Cohn became so concerned about Trump's sense of judgment... that he took a letter from the president's desk to stop him from authorizing the withdrawal from a bilateral trade pact with South Korea.
Trump has since taken to Twitter to blast the book,... and his closest aides including Chief of Staff John Kelly who allegedly branded the president an "idiot" and his administration as "crazytown," in the book.
