years of existence. Within that decade, the browser introduced a lot of changes to how we use the web. But now, Google Chrome
is envisioning how things
will look in the next 10 years — and they want
to kill URLs. Adrienne Porter Felt, Chrome's engineering Manager,
via 'Wired' It turns out that academics and
experts have considered alternatives
to URLs over the years, but it's not
an easy answer to come up with. The Chrome team itself
is still divided
on a resolution. Parisa Tabriz, director of engineering at Chrome,
via 'Wired' Adrienne Porter Felt, Chrome's engineering Manager, thinks the team will be more ready to publicly talk about their ideas this fall
or spring.
