To say that this climb may well be Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall's weirdest undertaking to date is saying a lot! Each year, the pair make an ascent of the classic gritstone route 'Master's Edge' (E7 6c) at Millstone in the English Peak District. While this celebration initially started out as a way for them to climb one of their favourite routes, the recent addition of a fancy dress element has made the event both more challenging and undeniably more entertaining. To date, the pair have climbed the route dressed variously as a banana, a crocodile, transvestites and a fat married couple. For this year's challenge, the pair elected to bring a little bit of climbing history to the occasion, making the ascent as famed mountaineers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. We're still unsure on the ethics of using supplemental Oxygen on a gritstone route, but given the added difficulty of seeing the holds through the gas mask, we think we'll let them have it!
