It's testing time! After last week's episode in which we followed the conception and design phases for Wild Country's latest sport climbing quickdraw, The Proton, it's now time to find out how the prototype holds up under test conditions. We're back with design engineer James as he talks us through the process of using a tensile testing machine to assess the breaking force of The Proton's snapgates and tapes as well as the quickdraw as a whole. We'll also be taking a look at the processes involved in manufacturing the tape itself and how Wild Country went about achieving the structure and feel they wanted.
