During Aretha Franklin’s funeral Chaka Khan sang a nine-minute rendition of “Going Up Yonder.” When asked about her chance to sing at the funeral, Khan said she thinks it’s positive. She said: “Death is a part of life.” According to Rolling Stone Franklin died on August 16th at the age of 76 from pancreatic cancer. The funeral is taking place at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit.
