날씨1: 태풍 영향으로 전국에 폭우
Typhoon Soulik is approaching the Korean Peninsula, and it's expected to affect the nation with heavy rain and strong wind as it passes through.
Let's now turn to our Michelle Park at the weather center for what to expect.
Michelle, what's the status of the typhoon?
Daniel, the nation needs to prepare thoroughly. Currently, Soulik is passing to the southeast of Jeju Island while maintaining strength classified as medium. It will pass Jeju at dawn, and approach Jeollanam-do province tomorrow afternoon and eventually land on the west coast near the central region. The typhoon will be the closest to the Seoul metropolitan area between tomorrow night and Friday morning.
Typhoon warnings are in effect in Jeju and the southern sea along with strong wind advisory. Make sure to stay updated with the forecast since alerts are expected to intensify or expand as it inches closer to the peninsula.
Jeju and parts of the southern coast are getting rain already, and it'll start for the rest of the nation tomorrow. The peak of the downpours will be from tonight until Friday morning,... bringing up to 500 millimeters in the mountainous regions of Jeju and more than 200 millimeters along the west coast while Seoul will get up to 150 millimeters.
Back to you Daniel.
