President Ram Nath Kovind
on Tuesday addressed the nation on the eve of India’s 72nd Independence Day. He asserted
that contentious issues and extraneous debates should not be allowed to distract us at a “pivotal moment” when the country is at the cusp of achieving many long-awaited goals. He said that he is overjoyed to see the youth of the nation and echoed Mahatma Gandhi’s
values. Farmers, forces and women featured in the President’s address. He said that women should have the freedom to choose their paths.
